Yealink has announced that two more of its SIP telephones have been accredited by Microsoft for use with its strategically vital Skype for Business platform.
Yealink UK’s general manager Steve Watts welcomed the news saying: “Securing Microsoft accreditation can only accelerate Yealink’s continued growth within the UK and other markets in which it is already a leading brand.
“Skype for Business is a key driver in the promotion and take-up of UC so compatibility is massively important strategically.”
He added that models in Yealink’s acclaimed T4x series are also already accredited for use with a wide range of IP PBX’s, including 3CX, Asterisk, Broadsoft, Cosmocom, Draytek, Elastix, Egypi, Genband, Genesys, IP Cortex, Positron, Sark and Splicecom.
All three Skype for Business approved handsets will be exhibited on Yealink UK’s stand at next week’s UC EXPO event at London’s Olympia, along with the T41P which is currently undergoing accreditation testing.
Both the T42G SFB and T46G SFB incorporate a modern Skype for Business interface, the latter offering the same experience as the client’s laptop version. Each also incorporates a wireless “Better Together over Ethernet” (BToE) function to enable seamless switching between Skype for Business desktop-client and desk phones.
Other common features include synchronised Outlook calendar with meeting “join” functionality, support of Microsoft’s Boss/Admin (Shared Line Appearance) utility and common area phone. Both models are also equipped with Dual-port Gigabit Ethernet, PoE and headset electronic hook switch ports, with the T46G SFB also offering a large 4.3” colour screen, built-in USB port, dongle-enabled Bluetooth headset connectivity and capability of adding six expansion modules providing 240 programmable buttons.
